KCNS provides flexible enrollment. Children can attend KCNS for two to five days a week. Tuition rates are calculated based on the number of days per week a child is enrolled for the academic year.
Xtra Days Program is an option for families who are enrolled in another childcare program but would like their child to join us on days their regular program is closed. This is also for families who vacation or visit family in the Kent and surrounding area during the school year. Tuition is paid per day enrolled: Xtra Full Day (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM): $95 per day. Xtra Half Day (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM): $55 per day.
Registration fee
There is a $45 yearly registration fee.
Tuition for the full academic year (end of August/September to June)
Enrollment is for a full academic year and families legally owe the total tuition for the full academic year. There is the option to pay the academic year's tuition all at once or to sign up for the 10-Installments Payment Plan. Our tuition comes out to about $9.40 per hour.
*10-Installments Payment Plan. With this plan, families pay tuition over 10 installments. You are legally signing up for a FULL academic year's tuition and must pay all 10 installments, regardless of the amount of weeks of school each month.
How to pay tuition
Automatic Withdrawal (ACH): Electronic funds are transferred directly from your bank account to KCNS' Webster Bank account. The ACH form will be emailed upon enrollment.
Checks: Make payable to Kent Community Nursery School or KCNS. Leave checks in the tuition box at KCNS or mail checks to KCNS, P.O. Box 594, Kent, CT 06757.
Due dates
Upon enrollment, tuition for the first installment (one month), and the registration fee ($45), are due prior to your child's first day at KCNS.
If signed up for the 10-Installments Payment Plan, ACH debits or checks are due the first Monday of the month.
Late payment
If tuition is not paid by the 15th of the month, families will be charged a $25.00 late fee attached to their bill. If not paid in full by the last school day of the month, the child will not be able to return to school until the bill is paid in full.
Refunds
Tuition will not be refunded in case of illness or other absence without prior consent of the school. For further details on tuition policies, see the KCNS Parent Handbook.
Financial Assistance
Scholarships are available for families who qualify. Such aid will be held in strict confidence.
