Field trips & Guests

The Kent Community Nursery School students may participate in yearly field trips and guest presentations, with parent participation welcome. 

Kent Memorial library, Kent, CT
On a monthly basis, students and teachers walk through Kent to the Junior Room (www.kentmemoriallibrary.org/). The librarian facilitates story time and crafts, and each child chooses a book to take home.
Trevor Zoo, Millbrook, NY
Students and teachers explore the unique animals (red panda, wolf, iguana, lemur, and so on) at this 6-acre zoo (www.millbrook.org/trevor-zoo-home), which houses 80 different species of animals, eight of which are endangered.
Agricultural Program at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, Canaan, CT
Students and teachers tour the program facilities to see farm animals and learn about planting and machines involved in farming.​
Audubon Center, Sharon, CT
Students and teachers visit the center (sharon.audubon.org/) to see birds of prey and reptiles, and to explore nature.

Kent Ambulance Services visits KCNS. Students and teachers tour an ambulance and learn about 911 and how to make a 911 call.
