Full Day
Monday to Friday
8 AM - 5:30 PM
Children who remain at KCNS 5 hours, or longer, per day are required, by CT state law, to nap (or rest) on a cot for, at least, 45 minutes in the afternoon.
Half Day
Monday to Friday
8 AM - 1:00 PM
KCS-Extended Afternoon (only for KCS students)
Monday to Thursday
11:30 AM - 5:30 PM
KCNS offers an Extended Afternoon Program only for students who attend the Kent Center School (KCS) Morning PreK program that runs Monday through Thursday. As part of our Extended Afternoon Program, a Region 1 Bus brings the children from KCS to KCNS at 11:20 AM.
KCS-Extended Morning (only for KCS students)

8 AM - 12 PM
KCNS offers an Extended Morning Program only for students who attend the Kent Center School (KCS) Afternoon PreK program that runs Monday through Thursday. Parents/Guardians pick up their children to bring them from KCNS to KCS at 12 PM. There is no bus transportation for this program.
Class size
The Nursery School class is limited to 20 children, with a maximum teacher to student ratio of 7:1.

KECNS open for Region 1 Teacher Professional Development Days
KECNS is open to older students, 3-12 years old, in CT Regional School District 1 on Teacher Professional Development Days. Region 1 includes the towns of Canaan, Cornwall, Kent, North Canaan, Salisbury, and Sharon.
KECNS will be open until 1:00pm. Your child can play with friends, relax in our library or do crafts. Simple, easy and lots of fun for kids!
