Program
This is a play-based, outdoors program where children immerse in nature, art-making, books, literature, songs, and rhymes. Children are outdoors for most of the day and get wet, sandy, muddy, go barefoot (if they choose), and immerse in the fun of summer! 6 weeks for Summer 2026 Week 1. June 22-26 Week 2. June 29-July 3 Week 3. July 6-10 Week 4. July 13-17 Week 5. August 10-14 Week 6. August 17-21 Schedule Monday to Friday (5-day program) 9 AM - 4 PM Per CT state law, children who remain 5 hours, or longer, per day are required to rest on a cot for, at least, 45 minutes in the afternoon. Families may pick up earlier than 4 PM, if desired, but tuition remains the same. Cost $335/week Sibling discount, if enrolled the same week $310/week A 25% nonrefundable deposit is due upon enrollment. Scholarships available Requirement We require that children be toilet trained. Ages 32 months - 5 years old Families with a child between 32-35 months must be approved for admissions by the Directors. |

What to know
Drop off/Pick up
Parents/Guardians drop off and pick up their children either on the playground or inside KCNS, through the blue entrance door and downstairs. Students should be picked up no later than 4 PM.
What to bring to school?
Please be aware that children will be playing, climbing, painting, going in the sprinkler, and getting wet and dirty outside everyday. Please have students dress accordingly.
Snack and Lunch
Please pack a snack, a lunch, and water bottle everyday. Ice Packs with snack and lunch are required (by the CT Office of Early Childhood).
Nut and Sesame Free STRICT Policy
KCNS is a nut and sesame-free facility. This includes all nuts, sesame, and items that contain sesame such as hummus, tahini, etc. This is a strict policy. Please inform the Directors, if your child has any other allergies or food restrictions. Thank you for helping keep our children safe.
Rest time
Children who remain at KCNS over 5 hours per day are required, by CT state law, to rest for, at least, 45 minutes in the afternoon. Every Friday you will take your child's rest gear home to wash and return the following week.
Illness
As stated in the CT Office of Early Childhood (OEC) guidelines, children and staff with mild respiratory symptoms (e.g., infrequent cough, congestion, runny nose, sore throat, etc.) may continue participating in-person as long as:
Anyone who has any respiratory symptoms should not come to KCNS if:
Check to ensure temperature is below 100 degrees and observe for symptoms. Students MUST stay home if they are feeling sick.
As outlined by the CDC, hand washing is one of the best safeguards for mitigating the spread of illness. Therefore, throughout the day, students and teachers will hand wash, as well as, increase daily cleaning measures as also outlined by the CDC and OEC.

Communication is the key to our family-school relationship. The Directors may always be reached via email or by phone.
